Many of Jones’s homes featured a circular, conically-roof breakfast room such as this one in the Smith residence.  The solid wood ceiling is constructed of tapered vertical staves held together with hoops rather than nails--an innovation which, like many of Jones’s unusual building techniques, did not endear him to building inspectors.
